TOT Corp is preparing to take legal action against two senior executives for irregularities in deals approved under the former Thaksin Shinawatra government, according to Sitthichai Pokai-udom, the Information and Communication Technology (ICT) minister.

The TOT board last Thursday approved the action against senior executive vice-presidents Suvit Satayarakvit and Peerapan Soonthornsaratoon.

Both Mr Suvit, who had overseen property management, and Mr Peerapan, who was responsible for marketing and product development, have been relieved of their duties. Vasukree Klapairee, a senior executive vice-president overseeing regional sales and customer service, is also under investigation.

Dr Sitthichai confirmed that the TOT board had found grounds for legal action against the executives and had already appointed replacements.

Wichien Naksrinual has been transferred to oversee property management in place of Mr Suvit, with Sayan Tinsamran named to head marketing and product development.

TOT sources said both Mr Suvit and Mr Peerapan were under investigation for irregularities in various contracting and procurement deals.

TOT has been placed under a microscope as part of a broader investigation by the current government into public projects and contracts initiated under Mr Thaksin's administration.
