Creative curves : Milan-based fashion powerhouse looks to Japanese anime for inspiration.
Modern women will be transformed into new sexy glam heroines this summer as Dolce & Gabbana's Women's Spring/Summer 2007 collection accentuates femininity and voluminous curves.
Inspired by the futuristic and whimsical world of Japanese comics, this collection provides truly voluptuous silhouettes. The cutting is truly anatomical here and a mixture of opposites is evident - the extremely short versus long and the fitted opposed oversized.
Classic fabrics and high-tech materials are juxtaposed in the most innovative way. There is PVC in multiple shades, satin, silk organza, silk stretch jersey, stretch cotton silk plastic, silk Mikado, silk chiffon, elastic corseting, painted silk satin, feathered PVC, denim and exclusive Dolce & Gabbana French embroideries.
Those sexy pieces are available in black and numerous shades of grey and bordeaux. Other colours inspired by futuristic visions include brilliant fuchsia, orange, turquoise, blue, yellow, green and purple.
Dolce & Gabbana also gives a new meaning to tailoring, innovation and creativity in its men's collection. With shapes and details made to enhance the masculine beauty of the body, this well-defined collection is like a showcase of the Olympic perfection.
Precise details are evident through impeccably cut weightless jackets with a soft and relaxed shoulder line, and relaxed-fit trousers complete with pleats that narrow as they reach the ankle.
Crests with Olympic emblems are embroidered or stitched onto the fabric, while shirts come with micro-collars and cuffs that can be removed or substituted to create different and personalised versions.
Dominating fabrics are suede, linen, cotton, silk and cotton satin, jersey, sweatshirt and denim in classic colours like white, blue and beige, with details in dark green and bordeaux, alternating with khaki and a hint of purple.
There are also two versions of suits - the classic with a perfect and sharp cut and the alternative paired with bermuda shorts. For evening, the tuxedo is replaced with a silk-satin monochromatic ensemble (jacket, trousers, shirt, tie) in white beige, navy, black or amber, both in the classic and bermuda version. RT
