Seaplanes link Andaman resorts

Destination Air, the country's only seaplane shuttle service, will today launch its first flight from Phuket Airport to various destinations on the Andaman coast.
Its fleet of two Cessna seaplanes will fly 12 flights per day, leaving every two hours from Phuket to Phi Phi Island, Krabi and Ko Lanta.
The travel time to these destinations is: 13 minutes to Phi Phi, 20 minutes to Krabi and 30 minutes to Ko Lanta. The planes will land in the waterfront of major hotels and resorts.
More destinations such as the Similan islands, Ko Racha, and Khao Lak will be included in due course.

Italian cultural sites
Italian cultural society Dante Alighieri has joined hands with the Dusit Thani Hotel in offering a cultural trip to Italian architectural sites in Bangkok on February 3 from 9am to 1pm.
Buses will take participants to several historical venues, including the Victory Monument, Anantasamakom Throne Hall, Democracy Monument, the Bank of Thailand, Rajatiwat Temple, and the statues of King Rama I and Rama VI.
The tour will be conducted by Prof Paolo Piazzardi, cultural attache at the Italian Embassy in Bangkok.
He will present participants with history of each place and biographies of Italian engineers, artists and architects who were involved in building the sites.
The cost for joining the trip is 500 baht for the society members and 600 baht for non-members.

Charity bicycle rally
Khai Bang Rachan Hospital in Sing Buri will hold a charity bicycle rally on February 3-4. The rally will kick off at Photi Kao Ton Temple. Participants will bike on a historical route along which Thai and Burmese troops fought many a pitched battles during the Ayutthaya period.

Camping in luxury
TravelMart has launched a new comfort tent that can house two single beds or a king-sized bed.
Called the "Luxury Safari Tented Camp", it is 3.80 metres wide, five metres long and 2.20 metres tall. The total weight is 70 kilogrammes.
The tent supports additional functions such as an air-con and other electronic appliances. Its cost, including VAT, is 45,000 baht.
