Thai 'Air Force One' now not just for PM

The ''Thai Koo Fah'' aircraft, which is dubbed the Thai ''Air Force One'' is no longer an official plane for prime ministers, an army source said yesterday. The source said it was Prime Minister Surayud Chulanont's idea to delist the Airbus 319 from the prime minister's transport, which means the plane can now be used by any cabinet ministers or high-ranking officers on official missions. It is also a reserve plane for the Royal Family.

Gen Surayud initiated the change because other ministers or officials would not dare to use the plane if it was listed as the prime minister's. The decision took effect a few weeks ago, the source said.
