Abhisit undeterred by road accident

Abhisit undeterred by road accidentDemocrat Party leader Abhisit Vejjajiva has returned to his non-stop campaigning on Tuesday following the previous night's road accident in Saraburi.
Abhisit escaped unscathed to continue a flurry of activities to sway votes in the final week of campaign although his BMW sedan was seriously damaged after his chauffeur crashed it into the rear of a six-wheeled truck.
He was on his way back to the capital following the completion of his campaign trial in Nakhon Ratchasima when the accident happened.
"I am OK though having some bruises and a minor headache," he said, adding he woke up in time to brace himself for the crash after hearing a loud braking noise.
He said he was not superstitious, hence refusing to interpret the accident as an omen.
But he appears to be out of luck with a second car as well. His chauffeur-driven Mercedes had a faulty brake when exiting the expressway on Rama VI Road and he was transferred to another car to arrive at the Democrat headquaters this morning.
The Democrat Party has unveiled its final campaign slogan "Elect Abhisit as prime minister, Vote Democrats". Its key message is designed to remind voters that an honest leader will revitalise the economy while a corrupt leader is to trigger economic ruins.
