Per-head allowances under social security scheme increased

The per-head allowance for medical treatment under the social security scheme subsidised by the government has been increased to Bt1,306 from the previous Bt1,284, Social Security Office (SSO) secretary-general Surin Jirawisit said Tuesday.

An additional per-head allowance for SSO beneficiaries with chronic diseases who require substantial treatment has been increased to Bt233 from the previous Bt211, he added. The amount is part of the total allowances on expenses for general illnesses.

The SSO has received another Bt888 in per-head allowances for treatments in which special care was required, such as dialysis, childbirth and maternal care. The Bt888 allowance includes a per-head allowance of Bt28 for dental care and another Bt62.29 in medication for Aids patients, he added.
