Regional conference
INVESTING : At least 15,000 delegates and visitors are expected to attend the Asia Trader and Investor Convention at the Queen Sirikit National Convention Center from Jan 12-13.
The conference, organised by the Singapore-based real-time information provider Next VIEW, features presentations on investment strategies for stocks, derivatives and commodities. Among the speakers are Daryl Guppy, the author of Trend Trading and a technical analyst for CNBC Asia; fund manager Ray Baross; and Don Schellenberg, the founder of Master Money Traders in Canada.

COMMUNICATIONS : True Corp hopes to establish new True Shop zones at more than 50 Power Buy branches nationwide in 2008.
True already has special zones at more than 20 Power Buy branches to promote its fixed-line, mobile, broadband Internet and True Visions cable TV services.
Suthisarn Chirathivat, the president of Power Buy, said the partnership offered synergy given the similar target customer groups of the two firms.
Power Buy, the electronics unit of Central Retail Corp, expects to post revenues of 12 billion baht this year, up 10% from last year. Sixty percent of its sales come from general appliances, with the rest from IT products.
Mr Suthisarn said Power Buy planned to open 15 new branches next year from its current network of 70, including new sites in Bangkok, Phuket and Pattaya.
