The five will be detained until December 26 while police interview the final 10 witnesses, Phaholyothin police said.

The five men have been accused of jointly robbing more than Bt22.8 million from a van operated by Siam Administrative Management Company (Samco) on November 29.

Police have retrieved Bt20.8 million and arrested three of the men who helped hide the money.

Meanwhile, Hua Mark police said they had yet to arrest anyone in two previous robberies of Samco vans, including a heist on June 12 this year in their jurisdiction.

Phaholyothin police chief Pol Colonel Akhom Janthanalach said later that there was evidence to link the five suspects with the two previous robberies of Samco vans.
