Corrupt art

After the soft launch of its new gallery with "Art Mart" last week, the Office of Contemporary Art and Culture's gallery in TPI Tower on Narathiwat Rachanakharin Road presents its debut show, "Art of Corruption", curated by Apinan Poshyananda, director of the Office of Knowledge Management and Development (OKMD).

Opening on Tuesday, the show deals with political and sociological issues, through installation, sculpture, multimedia, photography and design by 10 artists and eight graphic designers.

Prof Benedict Anderson of Cornell University will give a talk at 3pm on Tuesday, followed by a performance by the Crescent Moon Troupe and an art "happening" by Vasan Sitthiket.

Artists include Vasan, Kamol Phaosawasdi, Manit Sriwanichapoom, Sutee Kunavichayanont, Sakrin Kruaorn, Wit Pimkarnjanapong. Designers are Santi Lorrachawee, Vichien Tow and Siva Siririthichai.

The shows run until January 20. The gallery is from 10am to 6pm, Tuesday to Sunday.

Winter Woodstock

Bonanza Khao Yai in Pak Chong District, Nakhon Ratchasima, hosts an allnight music festival, featuring around 100 Thai bands.

Organised by the Loveis and Bakery Music labels, this second music festival on the mountain features big names like Boyd Kosiyabong, Modern Dog, POP, Nop Pornchumni, Nuvo, Mr Z, Groove Riders, Crescendo and Po Yokee Playboy. Others include Ben Chalatit, Suksit "Tor" Vejsupaporn, Radklao Amaradit, lure, Friday, Sqweez Animal, Lipta, 7th Scene, Tea for Three, Lolita, Shining Star and Safe & Big Bomb.

The show kicks off at 4pm and goes until late. Tickets are Bt1,500, available at Thaiticketmajor. Bring your own tent, or try to rent one on site.

Classical phenomenon

Russian maestro Mikhail Pletnev conducts the Bangkok Symphony Orchestra for a concert at 8pm on Tuesday at the Thailand Cultural Centre.

The programme features Narong Prangchareon's "Phenomeon" and Tchaikovsky's "Symphony No 4 in F Minor, Op 36". Pianist Denis Matsuev and clarinetist Michael Collins will be featured on Gershwin's "Rhapsody in Blue", with Collins as the soloist on Malcolm Arnold's "Clarinet Concerto No 2, Op 115".
