In his first solo show in Thailand, Japanese photographer Hirokazu Yuasa invites viewers to put behind their media-shaped knowledge of Iran and witness the actuality of this country through his lens.

The exhibition features work by students at the Faculty of Painting, Sculpture and Graphic Art, Silpakorn University, and attempts to translate the abstract concept of "sending happiness" into tangible art in each artist's individual style.

Another exhibition to mark the 120th year of Thai-Japanese relations, featuring work by a Thai photographer and a Japanese sound designer, both seeking to find a way to reflect each other's character through art.

Chaiyot translates the grace and sublime beauty of puppets into more than 10 large-scale paintings that aim to raise the appreciation of puppetry among the young in Thailand.

- From an Island South: Australian Landscapes , group contemporary art exhibition by artists from Tasmania, at PSG Art Gallery, the Faculty of Painting, Sculpture and Graphic Arts, Silpakorn University. Tuesday until January 27.

The exhibition features the work of prominent Australian artists Julie Gough, David Keeling, Jonathan Kimberley, Bea Maddock, David Stephenson, Richard Wastell and Philip Wolfhagen, all paying tribute to the intense beauty of their homeland by bringing to life Tasmania's dense forests, dramatic coastlines and rugged mountains.

Bangkok-based Japanese artist Eriko Ishikawa offers a range of small- and large-scale collage-style paintings using a variety of techniques. Characterised by dreamlike flowers, a pastel palette and collages made of bus tickets, newspapers and special fabrics, these paintings ooze the beauty of flowers with an abstract feel.

An up-and-coming young female artist, Charuorn's pastel-tinted cartoon-like artwork is fresh, catchy and unique.

- Triptychs , photography by Josef Polleross, at La Lanta Fine Art, 2nd Floor, Ban Silom, Silom Road Soi 19. Tuesday until January 31.

With each image capturing a unique moment that has come to life and has passed, assembled in a triptych, the collection reveals snapshot from the life of monks, street vendors, bike riders and women. Presented with no dramatic manipulation. the weight is not on the documentary aspect of the images.
