PPP candidate not worried over his suspension

(BangkokPost.com) – A winning candidate from the People Power party (PPP), Yongyuth Tiyapairat said he is not worried that the Election Commission (EC) suspended him, adding that he will clarify allegations against him with the poll agency on Tuesday.

Mr Yongyuth is among four winning candidates contesting in the proportional representation system that the EC did not endorse on Thursday. Seventy-nine other constituency system candidates also shared the same fate.

Mr Yongyuth said he will spend the next few days gathering evidence that he is innocent.

He also revealed that PPP may hold a press conference criticising the work of the EC.

Of the 83 winning candidates being investigated for electoral fraud, 65 are from PPP.
