Puea Pandin to make choice in three days

The Puea Pandin party expects to declare in three days whether it will be part of a government led by the People Power party, said spokesman Watchiramon Kunakasem. It is suspending political activity for three days to observe a period of mourning after the death of Her Royal Highness Princess Galyani Vadhana.

Chart Thai party director Nikorn Chamnong said the party would resume activity tomorrow, following the Princess' death on Wednesday.

Chart Thai and Puea Pandin are engaged in talks with the People Power party over whether to form a new government.

Mr Watchiramon said party members or executives who commented on formation of the government were expressing personal views. The only people with the authority to decide whether to join the PPP were party leader Suvit Khunkitti, party chairman Vatana Asavahame and chief adviser Pracha Promnok.

Mr Nikorn, meanwhile, said Chart Thai executives and members were told to sign a book of condolences for the late Princess.
