Kingdom's stars move into halfway lead

Thailand took the lead in both the men's team and individual events after two rounds at Bonanza Golf Country Club yesterday. Pipatpong Naewsuk hit a six-under-par 66, Kiradech Aphibarnrat 67, Varut Chomchalam 75 and Thanyakon Khrongpha 76 for a combined 10-under 422. Only the three best scores count.

The Thais led Malaysia and Indonesia by six strokes. The Philippines were a further shot back in fourth.

Pipatpong and Kiradech were joint leaders in the individual on six-under 138s. Andik Mauludin of Indonesia was second on five-under 139.

In the women's competition, the Philippines led the team event with a one-under-par 143 while 15-year-old Patcharajutar Kongkraphan, who shot a 71, trailed leader Ana Tanpinco by one stroke in the individual event.
