The 120-member band also won four other awards - best percussion line, best show/general effect, outstanding parade and outstanding style.

They received a gold medal, championship trophy and Bt400,000 after beating 10 other bands in the final round on Saturday.

"The school has been continually supporting its marching band and letting them compete in Thailand and abroad," said school director Amornrat Pinngern. "The band has won many championships and these students will be given an award early next year for establishing the school's reputation."

The band took part in the competition, which started on Tuesday in Kuala Lumpur.
