Puea Pandin leader to make statement today

(BangkokPost.com) – Puea Pandin party leader Suvit Khunkitti is due to make a statement about his party’s political direction later this afternoon.

Meanwhile, party spokesman Watchiramon Gunakasemthanawat admitted that the People Power party led by Samak Sundaravej had contacted the party last night about forming a coalition government but not much progress was made.

“We have not held detailed talks with the PPP, nor have we agreed to join forces with Chart Thai,” Watchiramon said. “We are awaiting clarity on the handing out of red and yellow cards before making any sort of political decision. It will be difficult to have to choose sides because all along, our main standpoint is that we are a party that favours national reconciliation.”
