Danish Restaurant robbed and staff member handcuffed and attacked.

Police Lieutenant Colonel Tawatshai from Pattaya Police Station was called to the Copenhagen Danish Restaurant in Soi Post Office, South Pattaya just before Daybreak on Friday to investigate an assault and robbery. Police were met by Khun Sarawoot aged 26, who works at the restaurant and explained that two Thai men knocked on the window. Khun Sarawoot was cleaning the restaurant at the end of a busy night. He thought the men wanted to rent a room and opened the front door. The two men proceeded to restrain Khun Sarawoot.

He was handcuffed and adhesive tape was placed over his mouth. He was then pushed into the toilet and kicked a number of times. The two thieves then stole the CCTV equipment and 1,400 Baht in takings along with 1,800 Baht found in the pocket of Khun Sarawoot. The owner of the Restaurant, Khun Sookjai explained that normally more cash is kept on the premise, however on this night the owner luckily removed most of the takings. Police have received descriptions of the two men and have also received information of a security guard who was employed by the Restaurant who was fired two months ago and may be involved in the theft.
