Gen Chetta : No definite merger plans
(BangkokPost.com) – As a string of political party leaders went to the polls to cast their vote this morning, so did Ruam Jai Thai Chart Pattana party leader Gen Chetta Thanajaro.
He admitted that he hasn’t discussed merger plans with any political party but has already appointed deputy party leader Second Lt Prapart Limpapat and the party’s secretary-general Pradit Pattaraprasit to handle the matter.
Ruam Jai Thai Chart Pattana party is not a front runner in the election race. All the same, it is hoping to win at least 30-35 seats in the lower house of representatives.
Asked about the possibility that he may become a prime minister by default, Mr Chetta said he would be "happy to embrace the opportunity". Mr Chetta, who was recently hospitalized after contracting the herpes simplex virus, played down claims that the premiership role would be too much for him to handle.
“I am fine now. I won’t kick the bucket that easily,” he smiled.
